The natural shingle beaches, Pisak and Kulina, are located on the Paklenica Riviera. The town of Starigrad is a starting point for visiting the Paklenica National Park. Pisak and Kulina are particularly suitable for a holiday for families with children, while the nearby tennis courts, sports fields and equipment ensure an active beach holiday. There are many legends associated with the old fort Večka Tower, which is located at the extreme end of the promontory of Kulina Beach in Starigrad, but the secret of the King, Pasoglav, has still not been discovered.Brela, also known as the pearl from the Makarska Riviera is only 5 km from Pisak. The 2 km long beach pathway connects the small beaches and caves and leads to the small harbour in the center. From there you have many possibilities to make excursions to the islands. If you like beach activities e.g. parasailing, waterskiing, banana boat etc. than head for the main tourist resorts of Brela and Baska Voda. It's only a short 10 min. drive from Pisak, so you can enjoy all the facilities there and come back to relax in the tranquil and unspoilt village of Pisak. In Pisak you can enjoy snorkeling, rent a boat, fishing and also it has posibilities for those who want to go scuba diving. You can make nice walks following the paths into the olive groves and pine forests if you go direction the church.A 15 minute drive will get you to Omis. You will find here numerous small restaurants and bars in the narrow streets of the historical center of this town. There are also many shops and a daily fruit and vegetable market. Other outdoor activities mainly take place around Omis. You can go rafting here on the Cetina river, which formed a canyon before reaching the sea in Omis. Also kayaking and mountainbiking are options. You will find many small agencies in Omis offering these trips. The rafting finishes at Radmanovice Mills, an old watermill that has been renovated for touristic purposes. Here you can have a nice meal under the shady trees close to the river.

During it's history, Pisak was primarily village of farmers and fishermen. There were two predominant surnames: Fistanići and Kuzmanići, who were living in two settlements, out of which the modern village of Pisak emerged. The group of old houses above the sea and to the east are still called Kuzmanići today. Main agricultural products were olive oil and red wine, which are still grown by local residents and we recommend you taste them when you visit Pisak. Pisak was the most important fishermen's port, on Omiš riviera, primarily due to its location which is across the eastern tip of the Brac island, and from where distant fishing areas were more easily accessible. The second reason was the building of well protected port in 19. century, which gave bigger boost to fishing in Pisak. Today, there is not much left of the local fishing fleet, but many local residents go fishing with their small boats, and we recommend you also to rent some of these small boats, and explore the area of Pisak from the sea, and find your own private beach or small cove.

In the city you can find fun for everyone and for all ages. During the summer there are the various entertainment events and venues. There are dozens of restaurants and caffe bar in the old center, and along the city beach. The festival Dalmatinskih klapa in Omis has been located here since 1967. During the festival, time is uniquely allocated to male vocal groups, female vocal groups, children’s vocal groups and folk singers. This event has greatly contributed to the development and preservation of the culture of a cappella folk singing, and the songs that were performed here for the first time have become a part of Dalmatian culture and many are still sung today. Omis is filled with various bars and good restaurants and taverns. In the beautiful ambient of the stone buildings of different restaurants and taverns, you can enjoy in local specialties, fresh fish caught by local fishermen and excellent local wine. There are more then dozen excellent restaurants and taverns in Omis and along the Riviera. Also, there are plenty of bars and night clubs in the old center of the city and along the long, sandy city beach. And those who prefer wild parties till dawn can find a variety of clubs in Makarska and Split.
