Grad Nis

Niš is a city in southern Serbia on the Nišava River. Niš is the largest city in southern Serbia and the third-largest city in the country. Niš is the administrative center of the Nišava District of Serbia. Sokobanja is 60km far from Niš, and Belgrade is 250km far from Niš. Balkan and European routes connecting Europe with the Middle East. In Niš, the main road, which runs from the north via the Morava valley, forks southward via the South Morava-Vardar valley (towards Thessaloniki and Athens), while the east road runs through the Nišava-Marica valley towards Sofia, Istanbul and the Middle East. In the Roman period, the second road was called the Via militaris, whereas in the Middle Ages it was called the Constantinople Road.

Nature..

The mountains in the surroundings of Nis- Suva, Svrljig, Kalafat and Selicevica, except for the recreation and enjoyment in natural beauty and rarities, will provide you with a possibility to get acquainted with cultural and historical heritage of this region. Almost every weekend, mountaineers and lovers of Suva mountain go to a conquest to some of the most stunning peaks from which one can enjoy the phenomenal view. Except for the most visited highest peak Trem, the mountaineers often go to noble Sokolov kamen, rocky Mosor, or they set off for the adventure of overcoming the entire ridge of Suva mountain, diving into numerous sinkholes. From numerous organized actions on Suva mountain , we point out the following: Winter climbing of Trem, Night climbing of Trem, Autumn climbing of Sokolov kamen. Niška Banja spa is located in southeastern Serbia, beside the main road between Niš and Sofia. It lies at the foot of Koritnik, which is part of the Suva Planina mountain, at 248 m above sea-level. It is 10 km from Niš and 250 km from Belgrade.

The natural therapeutic factors in Niška Banja are the gentle moderate continental climate, the thermal mineral waters and the naturally mineral-rich mud. The medicinal waters, which come from five springs (Glavno Vrelo, Suva Banja, Školska Česma, Banjica and Pasjača), are earth-alkaline homeothermic (36-38°C), lightly mineralised and have a flow rate of 56 litres per second. The healthcare and tourist facilities are located in a managed park which covers an area of 5 hectares. In the vicinity of Niška Banja there is the Košutnjak Forest Park which has fitness circuits. Niška Banja is suitable for sports team training and competitions with its small and large football pitches, handball and tennis courts, a horse racing track and firing range. Exciting paragliding competitions are also held in Niška Banja, with competitors taking off from the slopes of Koritnik and landing in Niška Banja.

Picnic sites in the surroundings of Niš include the Sićevačka Klisura gorge – a 16 km-long protected natural feature with rare plants and animals; the Jelašnička Klisura gorge – a special 2 km-long nature reserve with waterfalls and rare plants and animals; the Bojanine Vode holiday resort; Kamenički Vis – a holiday resort with winter sports facilities; and Cerjanska Pećina cave, 4 km long, with spacious chambers beautifully decorated in cave formations (stalagmites, stalactites, etc.).

Nightlife

The best what you can get in Nis is two clubs, several cafe bars and a lot of good restaurants with good Serbian food. Best club is Spark disco club, there is also Studio. Young people in Nis also like to go in cafe bars in Cair park or in pedestrian zone Pobedina street. Other large cities in central and southern Serbia are also well known by its vivid and exciting nigh life. People are very cheerful and almost always ready to party. Clubs in Cacak or nightlife in Nis or Kragujevac are pages with places to hang out that we are recommended. Turbo folk or mixture of folk and house music is typical for majority of clubs, but of course there are the mainstream house, r’n’b’ or techno nightclubs and discotheques as well.
