Glavatičevo village It would be a real shame to visit Herzegovina and not pass by Glavatičevo (about 98 km from Mostar), a small but welcoming village in the heart of the uncontaminated nature that surrounds the Boračko Lake and which the Neretva River furrows. Neretva river rafting trip lasts aprox. 5 – 6 hours and it is 18KM long trip, starting at Glavaticevo (village near the Konjic).

In this region, the river creates truly romantic canyons in its upper course, with breathtaking landscapes opening up to the visitor’s eyes: harsh gorges, mysterious pinewoods, wonderful flowers and wild habitats.Instead, in its lower part, there are limpid pools of water sur-rounded by small beaches, cottages, inns and various services which off er tourists every convenience and every possible outdoor activity: swimming, excursions in small boats, rafting, fishing and peaceful sunbathing. Rafting from Glavaticevo along the river Neretva is undoubtedly the most exciting thing.
Near Glavatičevo, there are hundreds of admirable stećci, the typical tombstones of Bogomili (an ancient population who lived in these lands in the Middle Ages), which are characterized by a fascinating symbolism and by inscriptions in “bosančica”, the antique Cyrillic-Bosnia language. Some are found in the Lukomir Village (Bjelasnica Mt.). The village of Lukomir is the highest and most isolated village in the country (1,500 m). It is known for its traditional attire, mouth-watering organic food and magnificent hiking. The village can be reached from the direction of Sarajevo as well.
