Welcome to Jajce! This city has the most beautiful waterfall in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This town is located near to my current city, Travnik. This city has a very rich history and the most amazing nature. the waterfall is located in the city center, and you must see it when you visit Jajce.
This waterfall is among 12 most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Pliva river falls down into the Vrbas river and creates this amazing waterfall. As you can see there are two rivers colliding and creating this amazing sight. The best time to go to this city is during summer. But this is not the only thing that Jajce has to offer.
There are also Pliva lakes with mills complex. this complex has been declared as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2009. In 1963 Jajce was a host to the European and World Championships in kayak and canoe. These waters offered the best conditions for training of kayakers, canoeists and rowers. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country with amazing natural resources and unfortunately we don’t use these resources in their full capacity.
As far as historical monuments are concerned, this town has a rich history. The temple of the god Mithras in Jajce is one of the most spectacular monuments of this town. Indo-Iranian deity of the sun and light – Mithras gives people courage, protects the righteous, protector of alliances. This cult came with Roman Empire.
Within the city walls are located catacombs. In these catacombs are located a crypt and underground church. There are also amazing mosques, the most amazing one carries the name of my daughter, Esma mosque. Omer bey house and Museum of AVNOJ are something one must see when visiting this beautiful city.
One thing is for sure, this town takes your breath away.
